Kindle Kids or a regular Kindle with a child profile?

Controls can work on a regular Kindle
Amazon says a child profile on a compatible Kindle, Paperwhite or Colorsoft can use the same Parent Dashboard. You can manage the library, reading goals and bedtime. A standard reader does not include the dedicated Kids bundle's case or included Kids+ subscription.
Match the display to the books
The compact Kids Kindle is a small monochrome reader. Paperwhite Kids adds a 7-inch monochrome display and Amazon's waterproof design. Colorsoft Kids is for covers, illustrations and comics where color is useful. The larger models cost more; check today's price.
